The best way to get moving and feel fit in these times of covid 19 is to get a bit of a workout indoors. But are you concerned about the type of clothes to wear during your workout? Choosing the right kind of activewear is a must for the kind of workout you are looking for.
So what is Activewear?
Activewear is casual comfortable clothing that is used for sports or exercise. Activewear has now transcended to casual, travel, running, workout and training. This pandemic brought a pause to our hectic work lives but the need for a healthy life and fit body still exists. We usually choose our clothes based on the coverage and what fits our budget. But should these be the only criteria to select our activewear? Let’s choose our perfect fit of apparel based on our needs
Types of Activewear:
1. Casual- due to the demand for increased comfort in our daily wear the activewear has become casual wear now. Since the material is comfortable, people prefer it to wear while travelling too. Here’s our recommendation if you don’t want to compromise with your comfort.
Ideal fabric: 100% cotton fabric
2. Training/workout- the sole purpose of activewear is workout and training. Training requires breathable material that evaporates sweat and moisture quickly. Training is done for physical fitness which includes strength gain or weight loss. Training could be indoor as well as outdoor.
Ideal fabric: 100% polyesters with anti-bacteria, anti- odour & moisture-wicking properties.
3. Running- since we cater to the running needs we would take it as a different category. It could be indoors(on a treadmill) or outdoors. For runners, we recommend a breathable fabric that wicks away sweat a.k.a Dryfit fabric and our innovative SPS(smartphone pocket shorts) which helps the runner to keep their phones in their pockets without the risk of bouncing and falling off.
Ideal fabric: 100% polyesters with anti-bacterial & moisture-wicking properties.
4. Yoga- is a light to medium intensity workout that requires a breathable fabric that absorbs sweat quickly. We recommend a cotton fabric that has the property of absorbing sweat instantly, hence suitable for yoga. It should have a stretch as well because yoga requires a bit of flexibility.
Ideal fabric: 100% cotton fabric
We have a selection of products based on the fabric that you desire.
Types of fabric
A breathable fabric that absorbs sweat but is recommended for light workouts like meditation and yoga. The cotton fabric provides extreme comfort in the dry state which makes it comfortable to wear throughout the day and light intense workout at the higher temperature. The perspiration is absorbed by the fabric due to it’s property of good absorbency and the moisture is retained in the fabric
It is a stretchy breathable fabric that allows you to have ease of movement. These garments retain their original shape after being stretched. This property of fabric containing spandex is really good for physical movements. These garments provide the least resistance to sports that involve stretching of materials because even a normal body movement stretches the garment to 10%-50%. This elastane based fabric is perfect for medium to high-intensity workouts.
It is a light breathable fabric that wicks the moisture and sweat off the skin to allow the skin to breathe. This fabric has the quality to dry quickly because it absorbs moisture and sweat from the skin. It spreads the sweat on the outer side of the fabrics which helps it to evaporate quickly. This helps in keeping the person dry and sweat-free during medium to high-intensity workouts.
